Slate Top Coffee Table

One of the best coffee tables my sister has ever used is a slate top coffee table. Now my mother and father have been around to see it I think they’re interested in getting something similar, let me show you what I found for them.

I’d better explain how they got their interest in the item, something I’m confident you’ll be familiar with!

With Mother’s Day just gone and the annual family gathering complete, after we’d been out for our meal we headed back to ours for some cake and ice-cream- a ritual in our family! My sister had driven our parents throughout the day, as it was much easier to fit them in her car than add to the already large-convey of vehicles within the family.

Whilst at the meal, the conversation was quickly changed to my sister’s new furniture that my mother had spotted ‘that new coffee table you have is incredible, the slate top is something I’ve always wanted’. Now if that isn’t a huge hint for my father to go out and buy one then I don’t know what is!

After trawling through what seemed like hundreds of furniture shops, we just couldn’t find one she liked, either too big or small, not the right shape or at the right angle, so to save anymore pointless journeys I set out on the hunt online for some tables with a slate top, matching the checksheet of requirements my mom had given me!

Let’s move onto the items I found.

Slate Lift Top Coffee Table

Quite possibly my favorite of the bunch, the slate lift top coffee table is fantastic for those of us who need a little extra storage. The advantage this possesses over the usual wooden trunk coffee tables #Ad is the lifting top feature. Simply lift up the autumn toned slate top and you’ll be greeted with additional storage for any partly read books you’re reading or to store the TV remotes to ensure the slate top is freed up to dazzle any guests that may have taken a fancy to the table!

The lid on this coffee table is as easy as opening your laptop lid, in addition with the lower shelving on this warm nutmeg finished table there is so much room for ornaments and drinks that usually fill up most coffee tables! The benefit of this lower shelf means the top lid is left free to be used for its purpose, lifting up and storage!

Often these sorts of slate-lift top tables don’t get their required usage as they have minimal storage, meaning the surface is needed for storage, making the lift top almost a pointless feature- however this item I’ve found is the complete opposite! At great value for money, you can see why the reviews are so good for it online.

Coffee Table with Slate Tile Top

My sister adores a coffee table with a slate tile top. They create that natural feel to almost any room they occupy, with the rustic dark metal base being an additional stylish decoration. The key when looking for a slate tile top is to get the one that is lacquer coated, the combination of that and the wooden border enhances the aesthetics of the coffee table and gives you that expensive and luxurious feel, at a relatively cheaper cost!

Tile designs are something that my sister can’t get enough of, in almost every room there is a decorative piece involving some form of tile formation, whether it is on the wall or a surface, it was only inevitable she’d get a coffee table to match, especially how sturdy the slate tops are. Ideal for holding drinks and the odd snack plate, the large surface area of the tile slate top gives you plenty of space for storage across the table, with the rustic oak finish on this particular design able to captivate any décor it is placed in.

Round Coffee Table Slate Top

The challenge my mom’s been facing when searching for a table is having it stylish enough to match her furniture, but also the right size, not too big and clunky to take up the room but still large enough to store the odd drink and a few remotes. The round coffee table slate top I think may just be her solution.

The benefits of rounded shaped furniture are that you get the best of both scenarios, the sleek look that spherical furniture gives you and at a decent size to not take up all the walking space within the room like most rectangular coffee tables do! The radial patterns of earth-tone natural slate are enriched on this item by a thick solid oak border and the hand forged iron base, adding some real character and functional purpose to any décor it is matched with- plus you get to keep a bit of leg room with the round shape of the slate top!

My sister, mother, and father are on their way around as we speak to give their opinions on what I’ve found before we get the go ahead to order her chosen one, I’m sure within a few days she’ll have it set up and will be sending us pictures of it!

Take a look at the slate top coffee tables I’ve found above and let me know what you think of them!
