Oil Rubbed Bronze Shower Door

Finally, our extensive search has paid off for the oil rubbed bronze shower door that I’ve recently helped find for my friend. Plus with our house renovations potentially spreading throughout the house this could be ideal for our bathroom too, let me show you what I’ve found.

Before that, let me explain how all this happened, something I’m sure your fairly similar with you too.

With my long-time friend from high school (don’t know how I’ve put up with him for so long, then again he’d probably say the same thing!) recently moving, the house he and his girlfriend had purchased needed a few tweaks to it to turn it from a house into a home! With him being into the latest fashion and trends, when the work on the bathroom was needed there may have been a few discussions on what designs they were going for- heated discussions to say the least.

After much debating I suggested something to them that seemed to be the solution, the increasingly popular oil rubbed bronze finish, something they’ve had before and liked so why not try it again? With that decided, as it was my idea I thought I’d find a few examples online to show them, let’s move onto what I’ve found.

With most modern bathrooms being a fairly contemporary in their designs, a frameless pivot shower door with oil rubbed bronze finish seemed the best place to start! Styled to maintain an open feel to the bathroom, something I liked about this type is the pivot motion of the door. Giving you the space inside your shower, as the door pivots outwards, the days of struggling with an inward opening door will be long behind you.

Furthermore, you have the option to choose which side you’d like the pivot to be, something specific to your layout to maximise the space in your bathroom! The frameless glass provides that open and spacious feel, creating that vibe of relaxation as you enter the room- with the solid brass and oil rubbed bronze colour topping it off with a vibrant rich finish.

Picking the right size to adjust to your needs is normally the final thing to tick off the checklist when it comes to a new shower door, with this type coming in a collection of sizes:

The semi-frameless oil rubbed bronze shower door is that in-between item, the semi-frameless acting as the compromise for a framed shower door and even the minimalist frameless shower doors. This is due to the small amount of framework required to keep the door in a stable position, a popular choice by many due to the slim nature of the design giving the door that uncluttered look and creating that airy feel within your bathroom.

This type of shower door also comes in a variety of selections (see below), whether it is a sliding door, pivot as mentioned above or a hinge, this door gives you multiple options when deciding what to add to your shower. The hinge is something my friend is interested in as it is very distinctive, like the pivot in its structure, yet giving you a wider access to the shower, making it effortless when walking into your nice warm shower after a long day!

Sometimes when looking for shower doors, the ability to save space within the bathroom is a key point when creating your ideal shower, not only does it affect the cost but having a door that seems as if it takes up no room at all will make manoeuvring it incredibly easy! The oil rubbed bronze sliding shower door gives you that light atmosphere to your bathroom yet also the bronze finish adding that extra appeal.

I’ve always found sliding doors more beneficial for when leaving the shower, when your hands are all wet, pulling or manipulating a handle can become much more difficult than it sounds, especially if the soap hasn’t fully rinsed off of your hands! With the sliding doors, as soon as you get it moving it just glides into position, making your exit from the shower as simple as humanly possible.

This type of door comes in a mixture of sizes and frames:

With my friend’s door ordered and on its way I’d better get my toolkit to hand as DIY has never been his strong suit! I’m also going to take a few pictures to show my family- if they like it, it’ll be on the ever growing list of furniture we need.

Check out the oil rubbed bronze shower doors I found and let me know what you think of them!
