Frameless Bypass Shower Door

The extensive search is over, my brother and his family are extremely pleased with the frameless bypass shower door we managed to find for them. After my sister-in-law’s parents stayed with them for their annual holiday visit, they’re interested in getting something similar! Here are the items I liked best and why.

I’ll go into some small detail before I go on, I’m sure it’s something you can relate too!

With years of valuable service under its belt, the previous shower/bath tub combo my brother had was known throughout the family. Being so versatile, you had a freedom of choice whether you wanted to relax the night away in a warm, soapy bath or hot, steamy shower!




Nevertheless, as the years went on, the results of its usage were beginning to show, rust developing around the framed edges, an increasingly more difficult to clean plug hole and the tighter than normal hot and cold taps are just a few issues that come to mind. Safe to say a new, more modern shower was needed.

With that change in mind, my brother decided for practical reasons a bypass door would be the most beneficial to the layout of their bathroom, plus a frameless model would even combat some of the rusting issues they had with the previous model.

As he set out to visit all the local hardware stores with our other brother, I looked across the web for a model a lot cheaper than some in store shower doors!

With most bathrooms being fairly compact, glass designs are often the best choice when selecting shower doors, creating that spacious feel that sometimes is missed out upon when using a frosted-glass style. The thick tempered glass also has anti-lime scale coating which will make the cleaning of it a much simpler task! That really stood out for me with this model as the thought of spending hours wiping down glass shower doors can be really off-putting, so the benefits of the extra coating is an advantage this model has compared to other similar designs.

Having a selection to choose styles to match your room is something most frameless bypass shower doors struggle to match, often a ‘one style fits all motto’, so I was pleased to see that this glass shower door gives you that choice.

Semi Frameless Bypass Shower Door

I’ve been told that my sister-in-law’s mother loves a semi frameless bypass shower door. Being the perfect combination of the frameless and fully framed models in design, they tend to be more competitive price-wise too!

They also provide more structural benefits than the complete frameless doors, yet also hold the looks of the frameless models as well- often the fully framed doors don’t give you that same sleek look- so the semi-frameless is the best of both worlds!

Personally, these are the best semi frameless bypass shower doors I found (image above size 56-60 inch Width) They come in a variety of sizes (see below) the chrome finish enhances the look of the glass and the semi-frameless features make installation much easier to handle!

Frameless Bypass Sliding Shower Doors

The sliding feature on the frameless bypass sliding shower doors is something to be admired. Essential for space saving, you don’t have to worry about any hinged or pivot doors swinging out of the shower and blocking any potential walking space in smaller sized bathrooms. The sheets of glass slide across each other elegantly and make your entrance/ exit from the shower that much easier.

What I like about these frameless sliding doors is their almost ‘weightlessness’ feel, being frameless- the smoothness of their movement is what makes them such a popular choice when looking to upgrade your shower doors.
