Glass Top End Tables

Our favourite type of end table, the glass top end table was exactly what we needed! Now we’ve shown them to friends visiting our home they are after some as well, I’ll show you what I thought they’ll like.

But first I’d better explain the situation, something all too similar to your own experiences I imagine!

After the holidays had finished, with the dawn of a New Year upon us, we fancied a changed, something around the home to add a new spark, so we thought to redecorate! Beginning downstairs in the living room, often most people’s main room in their home, we needed new furnishings, more importantly, end tables!
You can never have enough of them, whether you need them to hold a laptop on when connected to the TV, act as a drinks table when guests come round or just store ornaments/decorative pieces on around the room, they can be the ultimate utility table!

We’ve had wooden top ones for years but often found that they lose their appeal over time and when decorating, often limiting how far you can change style before you need a whole new set of matching furniture! With that in mind, plus the more modern look we’re going for, we decided to go for the glass top end tables; they allow you much more creative freedom!

Let’s get on to the styles I found.

Most rooms will have corners or tight spaces that don’t really provide much use, especially as you don’t have the room to put anything in or around them. First thoughts to fill these awkward spots tend to be small tables, end tables or coffee tables- all worthy choices but the normal square or rectangular shaped ones still can be a pain to get just in the right spot!

Round glass top end tables can be the key to solving those situations! The curved/rounded shape to the top of the end table means squeezing it in the corner or by the door frame will not only make the room more full and inviting, yet also be equipped with the glass top to provide the support for any coasters or magazines or laptops that happen to find their way onto them!

The sturdy glass top and thin leg/base structure enable the table to be a very solid, practical purchase, with the leg/base having firm support but not sticking out too much and causing the any unwanted toe stubs as you walk past them- yes it happen to all of us!

I found the above models for great value, fit most rooms designs and have top reviews.

A personal favourite of mine tends to be the metal end tables with glass tops; they tick all the boxes for me! Although a simple design, they are often stylish and the finishing on them means they can match almost any sort of décor within the home, plus a strong metal frame allowing you to place a larger collection of items on the table with no worry of it tipping over!

Metal frames are usually a popular choice because of their durability; evidently, they also can provide multiple tiered shelving so not only can the glass-top be used for drinks and snacks, the other shelves can house any booklets, mail or electronics that tend to only have a temporary home before they are needed again. The models I’ve found are a great size and are not limited being a 'backup table'; they can easily become the centrepiece of the room if they are required to.

When looking for new side furniture for around the home, it can be quite a challenge if you are looking for a variance in design or style. You can find something that fits your size range, preferred structural shape but them ultimately the finishing on the item can let it down.

One part I struggled with was an end table with glass top and a brass finish. They’re either too gold in colour, not high-quality brass finishes or ridiculous in pricing! So you can spend hours searching online for the ‘right’ one and come away with nothing, even more so with the glass top adding another dimension.

Thankfully I did manage to find some that suited all the requirements, if you’ve had similar issues then the ones I’ve found could be a solution for you.

With the painting almost finished and all the new furniture found, we’ll soon have everything set up in no time to start the New Year with the spark we're looking for. The rest of our friends and family are all dying to come round and take a look at the newly designed room!

Check out the items I’ve discovered above and let me know if the glass top end tables are of use to you!
