Black Wood Side Table

One of the best side tables we’ve purchased in a long time is the black wood side table. With Mother’s Day approaching I’m thinking of getting one for my mother also. Let me explain the items I liked best and why.

I’d better give you some background on how all this came about before that, something I’m sure you’ll relate too!

Like most people, we’ve had smaller side tables next to most of the beds in our home for years, they’re just incredibility functional!

So one day I’m lying in bed reading the new Sir Alex Ferguson book (any English football fan will know the legendary name), delving into the chapters of his life before I hear a fairly loud ‘thud’ next to me!



Startled, I leaped up out of bed and realised the whole of the side table next to my bed had tipped over, meaning the drinks glass, glasses case, photo frame and money jar all went crashing down with it! Thankfully my phone had just about survived this earth-shattering fall, however realising that maybe balancing so many items on an extremely small side table wasn’t my brightest idea!

With the need for new one to match the recent decorations, I opted for a black wooden one which would be a lot sturdier than my last, let me move onto what I found.

An important feature for most side tables is the ability for them to not only stand in small spaces but also have adequate storage so you can make use of them, no matter what room they are used in. Something I liked about this small side table black with drawers is the single storage drawer, which includes a shelf attachment just above it. A unique addition, the shelf attachment means once you’ve opened the single drawer capable of storing all the usual gadgets and chargers- you can slide the shelf across the top of the drawer and use it as an extra surface for items across the top of the table. Meaning no more overloading the top with too many items!

The black colour makes it usable across a range of decors, so no need to worry about it matching with the other pieces of furniture you own!

Black Wooden Chair Side End Table

Most additional tables are bought so our lives can be made just that slight bit easier; maybe having that room next to your chair for remotes and drinks or just an extra surface for picture frames and house keys, this black wooden chair side end table is no different!

It does have a key feature that impressed me, giving it that edge over some other similar items I found. The flip top feature on this table is fantastic in function and style, so not only do you get top surface storage and somewhere underneath for your smaller items, you also get a charging station built into the table! Talk about 21st century!

This really stood out for me as often you are just in the middle of doing something important on your phone/tablet and the battery is about to die! I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve had to sprint across the room in a panic to find the charging cable before my device shuts down! This easy to assemble table will give you that helping hand with 2 standard plug outlets and 2 USB ports within the storage compartment of the table, so you aren’t limited to just phone chargers, ideal for laptops, electronic picture frames and maybe even that lamp you struggle to find room for!

Plus with cable management, you’re still able to close the flip top lid and have access to your devices, whilst on charge!

Pinewood is normally a specialist type of wood that isn’t associated with side/end tables, so the item I’ve found is going to be popular with my mother, that’s a certainty (with it being one of her favourite types of wood). The 2 drawer side table is a gateway to most of our storage needs, so if like my mother you often have storage units for candles, crafting items or general gadget charges from around the house this could be something to interest you.

With plenty of storage room on top, the plant pot or landline phone you struggle to find a permanent home for may have just found one! You can just picture this item in a hallway, picture frame on top, keys in one draw, take-out menus for the weekend in the other and your favourite flower pot bought by a relative on the lower section of the table, adding that homely feel for any visitors as they enter your home.

With some great reviews online and good value for money -as it's able to combine with any modern or contemporary décor, I may have found my mother’s day present after all!

Now we’ve got to spend time deliberating how many to buy, the charging station for me is just so practical, perfect for when the family come over and everyone is after the same wires, we don't all have to spread across the room to charge our gadgets!
