Wooden Trunk Coffee Table

It’s the best of both worlds a wooden trunk coffee table, firm enough to support an array of drinks, cakes, and even cats! Plus it provides an excellent place to store the mismatch of gadget accessories and kids toys that are often floating around our house. We needed a new one since the New Year and I can show you the three I thought were the best and why.

But first I better explain how all this came about, we can’t be the only family, I’m sure you’ve had a similar experience!

After another Festive Holiday period full of family gatherings and gadgets galore for the family, our previous coffee table had seen a small battering, to say the least

After the frequent reloading of drinks/cakes for the distant/close family that would make their annual visits around this busy time, the table was looking fairly full- which of course the family cat Mistletoe (the name shows our family is extremely fond of Christmas) was keen to explore!


Also, the maze of phones; tablets, controllers, and the latest wrestling figures to stock the shelves, had all been added to the maze in which the cat was determined to get through.

Of course, you can see where this is heading, once one drink is knocked like a domino set the rest soon followed! With the cat scrambling to stay aboard the SS Coffee Table, all the other items were slowly crashing overboard as last ditch attempts were being made to save as many gadgets from their screen-shattering fall. In the midst of this chaos (which is often in our house),  a family member exclaimed, “You should get one of those Coffee Tables that’s Trunk shaped, the wooden ones, it would help prevent all this you know!”

Then it clicked, indeed our storage problems would benefit from being a little more secure from spillages and I’m sure the cat would be content with extra lying space (even though her bed is often empty!) Here are the coffee tables that I thought were the best.
